Tereziánský Dvůr, Hradec Králové

Project team

Location: Hradec Králové
Client: STAKO s. r. o.
Project phase: Concept, planning and building permit design
Year: 2005–2007
Status: Completed

Tereziánský Dvůr transforms the former Nálepkova barracks in central Hradec Králové into a mixed-use urban complex. The renovation of historic buildings and the addition of new structures bring together a hotel with conference facilities, housing, commercial premises and operational facilities for the Drak Theatre. The design responds to the site’s position on the edge of the historic centre and the surrounding ring of urban development.

The architectural approach preserves the character of the listed building while introducing contemporary elements. New entrances, glazed additions and a redesigned courtyard connect the historic fabric with its new uses. Outdoor seating, greenery and a hotel terrace create a quiet shared setting within the urban block. HPDK provided the architectural concept, planning and building permit documentation, and architectural supervision.
